Steve Savage is Professor of Criminology and Director of the Institute of Criminal Justice Studies, University of Portsmouth. He founded the Institute as Director in 1992 and the Institute is now the largest centre for criminological studies in the UK. He has researched and published widely on public-policy making, police governance and the politics of criminal justice. He is currently researching miscarriages of justice, police reform and has recently commenced a project on organised crime and drugs.
